A Brand New Wonderful Bus
For years the Crusaders have traveled in entertainer coaches (converted
Greyhound buses) but always older models.
This year we made the leap. We just purchased a 2000 motorcoach, that is 45
feet long. For you over-the-road buffs it has the big Detroit Diesel Series
60 with an allision B-500R automatic. The bus has already had a storied
past. The bus and its twin were put into service July 2000 and ran between a
small University near the World Trade Center and up state New York. After
9-11, the buses weren’t allowed near the center.
The bus company
immediately went out of business and sold both buses to a wholesaler in St.
Louis. Both buses were repurchased immediately. One was sold to the
Crusaders and the other to Kid Rock, a popular rap artist who we were told
lost his previous bus in a Federal government drug raid in Florida. I’m sure
each bus will see a very different lifestyle.
Album 18
The Crusaders have completed their 18th
album. It was released in March 2003. This is the 1st time in 40 year
the group has used all their own musicians (no studio musicians) to produce
an album. It also marks the 1st album done at Warehouse Productions since
the late 1960’s. The album blends their southern gospel and praise & worship
sounds. The songs include:
1. Where No One Stands Alone
2. I Sing The Mighty Power
3. Rise Up & Praise Him
4. Come, Now Is The Time To Worship
5. Rock of Ages
6. Lord I Give You My Heart
7. Praise You
8. Press On
9. It Is Well With My Soul
10. Farther Along

Jay Is Back Home
Many of you know our guitarist, Jay Tolliver. He is one of the best gospel
guitarists in the nation and is known as the new “Mr. Gospel Guitar.” Well,
we lost him for about 15 months. He was in Iraq serving his country.
What do you think he took along to Iraq in his foot locker? Here it is: an
electric guitar, a bass guitar, a line 6 pod and a Fostex 16-track digital
recorder! That’s the sign of a dedicated (or deranged) musician!
He is back now and
better than ever. He is working on a new instrumental album to be released
later this year. If you haven’t heard him you are in for a real surprise.
Scott Goes to Romania
Crusader’s drummer, Scott Kerns will be gone the first of next month on a
short-term missions trip to Romania. He will be responsible for much of the
music during the trip. Scott serves as the chaplain for our group. He
prepares a short message for the group before each concert. He has a great
heart for God and spends more time in Bible study than anyone I know. Keep
him in your prayers as he travels.
Recording Studio
The Crusaders are blessed to have their own recording studio. It is one of
the biggest in the state of Nebraska. Visit our studio website at
www.PlatinumRecordingStudio.com. We will be starting a new album is
three weeks.
Prison Ministry
The two-year old prison ministry of the Crusaders is growing faster than we
can keep up. Each Sunday we have 30-40 inmates at the church service and
each Monday night from 7:00 to 9:00 we have our Celebrate Recovery (a
Christ-centered 12-step program) and Life skills classes. Most of the
Crusaders help teach the weekly classes. We now have a waiting list of about
40 inmates for both the Sunday church service and the Monday night classes.
Our class numbers are limited by inmate transportation to the church and the
volunteers need for the program. We hope to continue to grow as the Lord
provides.
